A wireframe is a rough sketch or mock-up of what a screen for an application would look like. It does not matter if this is a mobile application, a website, a desktop application, or a game.
Wireframes are excellent in helping to convey the structure of the page that you are designing without taking into account any of the design elements, colours or the aesthetic aspect of the page. These help you identify the data that needs to be represented for a specific screen.
